# Does Ecto merge carts?

No. **Ecto does not merge carts.**

Ecto always keeps **one cart per customer**: the **last edited cart**.

If a customer edits their cart on another device, that cart simply replaces the previous one. There is no combination of products, quantities, or cart contents.
This behavior is intentional.
Ecto is designed to be **invisible, predictable, and conflict-free**, without popups or cart selection.

If cart merging is required for your use case, Ecto may not be the right fit.
